- 2 c. corn meal (self-rising)
- 1 c. self-rising flour
- 1 c. buttermilk
- water as needed
- 1 small onion
- 1/2 c. Wesson oil
Directions

1Mix flour, cornmeal and buttermilk together.

2Chip up onion; add to mixture.

3Add water to mixture to make batter thin enough. Preheat oven to 450°.

4Place a little oil in each muffin hole. Place in oven until hot.

5Dip a large spoon of mixture into each hole.

6Bake until brown.

7Makes about 30 minutes.
