- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/4 c. bacon fat or shortening
- 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 2 eggs
Directions

1Mix all ingredients.

2Beat vigorously 30 seconds.

3Pour into greased round layer pan or square 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.

4Bake at 450° until golden brown, 25 to 30 minutes.

5Serve warm.

6Or make fried corn bread.

7Drop by ladleful into hot grease in frying pan.

8Turn as you would a pancake.
