- 1/3 c. sifted flour
- 3/4 c. yellow cornmeal
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 beaten egg
- 2/3 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. oil
Directions

1In a bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder, sugar and salt.

2In another bowl, combine the egg, milk and oil.

3Add to flour mixture.

4Pour batter into a greased baking pan.

5Bake at 400° for 30 minutes.

6Use a toothpick to test for doneness. Remove pan to a rack.

7Let stand for 10 minutes.

8Invert onto a breadboard or platter.

9Cut into 3-inch squares.
