  • 2 c. corn meal (self-rising)
  • 1 1/4 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 to 2 Tbsp. sugar

Directions

    Preheat well-greased heavy 8 or 10-inch skillet and cover lightly with corn meal.

    Stir sugar into corn meal.

    Stir beaten egg and vegetable oil into milk.

    Mix all ingredients; pour into skillet and bake in 425° oven, preheated, 20 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.
