Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. cornmeal
  • 3/4 c. flour (self-rising)
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • salt to taste
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 c. milk (approximately)
  • 2 Tbsp. cooking oil

Directions

    Mix all ingredients.

    Add milk to make batter to desired thickness.

    Heat cooking oil or meat grease in a 9-inch pan. Sprinkle dash of corn meal in oil to prevent sticking.

    Pour batter into pan and cook at 400° to 450°, about 30 minutes, until done.
