- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. melted shortening
Directions

1Sift together the dry ingredients.

2Mix egg and milk; stir into dry mixture.

3Add melted shortening and mix thoroughly.

4Pour into hot skillet with 1 tablespoon shortening.

5Bake in a preheated oven at 450° until golden brown.
