- 5 slices bacon
- 1 medium onion
- 2 medium potatoes, pared and diced (1 1/2 c.)
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 (17 oz.) can cream-style corn
- 2 c. milk
- 1 tsp. salt
- dash of pepper
- butter or margarine
Directions

1In large saucepan, cook bacon until crisp.

2Remove bacon, crumble and set aside.

3Reserve 3 tablespoons of bacon drippings in saucepan; discard remainder.

4Add onion slices; cook until lightly browned.

5Add diced potatoes and water.

6Cook over medium heat until potatoes are tender, 10 to 15 minutes.

7Add corn, milk, salt and pepper.

8Pour into bowls.

9Top each with crumbled bacon and a pat of butter.
