  • 3/4 c. yellow cornmeal
  • 1 (8 oz.) cream-style corn
  • 3/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. dry mustard powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/8 tsp. hot pepper sauce
  • 4 hot dogs, halved crosswise

Directions

    Combine cornmeal, flour, onion, baking powder, salt and mustard.

    Stir in egg, corn, milk and hot pepper sauce.

    Spoon batter into greased round baking dish with inverted glass in center.

    Place hot dogs around dish in spoke-like fashion.

    Heat 13 1/2 to 14 1/2 minutes on Power level 5 (Medium), until cornbread is done.

    Remove glass and let stand, covered, 7 minutes before serving.
