  • 1 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. whole corn kernels
  • 1 egg
  • pinch of sugar
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • vegetable oil for deep frying
  • 1/2 c. confectioners sugar for serving

Directions

    In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and salt.

    Add the corn, egg and sugar.

    Stir in milk to form a dough that is soft, but not runny.

    In a deep-fryer, heat the oil to 325°.

    Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of fritter dough into the oil and fry for about 10 to 15 minutes.

    Roll in confectioners sugar, if desired. Serve warm with honey butter.
