- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 1 1/2 c. sour milk
- 1 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 c. melted bacon fat
Directions

1Sift flour.

2Measure and sift with baking soda, salt and baking powder.

3Mix with corn meal.

4Combine bacon fat, sugar and eggs.

5Add sour milk.

6Combine with dry ingredients.

7Beat only until smooth.

8Fill well-oiled muffin pan 2/3 full.

9Bake in hot oven (435°) for 15 to 20 minutes.
