Ingredients
- 1/3 c. corn meal
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. melted shortening
- 2 c. milk
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/4 c. warm water
- 3 to 4 c. plain flour
Directions

1Combine and cook until thick corn meal, sugar, salt, shortening and milk.

2Cool to lukewarm.

3Add eggs and yeast that has been dissolved in warm water.

4Beat well.

5Add flour.

6Turn out on floured board and knead until smooth and satiny.

7Let rise 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

8Shape into rolls.

9Let rise again until double in bulk.

10Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 375°.
