Ingredients
- 3 c. water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. corn meal
- 1 1/2 c. sharp cheese
- 1 1/2 c. oil
Directions

1Mix water and salt in saucepan; bring to a boil.

2Gradually stir in corn meal; cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly, until smooth and thick.

3Remove from heat.

4Add cheese; stir until cheese is melted.

5Cool.

6Shape into 3 x 1-inch logs, using 2 tablespoons of mixture per stick.

7Heat oil in large pot to 375°. Fry corn sticks (a few at a time) for 3 to 5 minutes on each side. Drain on paper towel.

8Yields 2 dozen.
