- 1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. yellow corn meal
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 c. milk
Directions

1Sift flour, baking powder, sugar and salt into mixing bowl. Add corn meal.

2Cut in shortening with fork or pastry cutter until mixture is fine textured.

3Combine eggs and milk and add to dry ingredients.

4Stir just enough to moisten dry ingredients.

5Do not beat.

6Pour into well-greased pan and bake in oven at 425° for 25 to 30 minutes.
