  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. sugar (if desired)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. shortening or oil

    Mix dry ingredients.

    Add eggs, milk and shortening.

    Beat until smooth.

    Do not overbeat.

    Pour into greased 8-inch round or square pan or cornbread skillet.
