- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. sugar (if desired)
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. milk
- 1/4 c. shortening or oil

1Mix dry ingredients.

2Add eggs, milk and shortening.

4Do not overbeat.

5Pour into greased 8-inch round or square pan or cornbread skillet.

6Bake at 425° for 35 to 40 minutes.
