  • 1 1/2 cup butter
  • 3 cups onions chopped
  • 3 each apples, granny smith not peeled, chopped
  • 9 cups cornbread
  • 7 tablespoons sage leaves dried or fresh
  • 1 1/2 cup pecan halves
  • 1 x salt and black pepper salt and pepper, to taste

    Melt half of the butter and saute the onions and apples.

    Move to a large mixing bowl.

    Melt the other half of the butter and add to bowl with other ingredients.

    Any stuffing that is not used to stuff a fowl can be baked in a covered casserole for 30 to 45 minutes at 325.
