Ingredients

  • 1 black iron skillet of cornbread
  • 1/2 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 bunch green onions
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 lb. pan sausage
  • 4 chicken bouillon cubes, dissolved in 1 c. water
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 can Morton's chicken broth
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 pkg. Pepperidge Farm dressing mix

    Make cornbread ahead of time.

    Saute bell pepper, celery and onions with the sausage.

    Combine bouillon, chicken broth and butter.

    Pour all ingredients into a large Dutch oven with crumbled cornbread.

    Add remaining ingredients.

    Bake at 450° for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until crust is brown on top.
