- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 c. lard or butter
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 to 4 Tbsp. water
- 1 1/2 c. corned beef, minced
- 2 medium potatoes, grated
- 1 onion, grated
- 1 carrot, grated
- 1 egg, beaten
Directions

1Combine flour, lard or butter and salt in a large mixing bowl. Dig in with hands and work together until you have coarse crumbs. Sprinkle in water and work into ball.

2Don't use anymore water than necessary to avoid toughness.

3Divide dough into 6 portions. On a lightly floured board or surface, roll each ball into 6-inch circles.

4Combine corned beef, potato, onion and carrot.

5Mix well. Divide into 6 portions and place one portion in center of each pastry circle.

6Fold over filling and crimp edges.

7Brush with beaten egg and bake at 400° for 35 to 40 minutes.

8Serve hot, warm or at room temperature.

9May be frozen before baking for later use.
