- 1 c. self-rising cornmeal
- 1 c. self-rising flour
- 1/4 c. shortening (Crisco)
- 1/2 to 3/4 c. milk
Directions

1Combine cornmeal and flour in bowl.

2Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

3Blend in enough milk to make soft dough.

4Put onto floured board and knead gently 30 seconds. Roll out 1/2-inch thick.

5Cut out with 2-inch biscuit cutter or sharp knife.

6Place on ungreased baking sheet.

7Bake in preheated 425° oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
