- 1 c. cornmeal
- 1 qt. milk
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 well beaten egg
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. allspice
Directions

1Put milk in large saucepan and bring to a boil.

2Using low heat, slowly stir in cornmeal and let cook a few minutes, stirring constantly; add salt.

3Take off stove and let cool for a few minutes.

4Add milk to thin a little; then add one well-beaten egg, sugar and allspice.

5Pour into casserole and bake in a moderate oven about 35 minutes.

6Stir twice while baking.
