Cornmeal Rolls

Ingredients

  • 2 c. milk
  • 2/3 c. corn meal
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 6 c. white flour

Directions

    Add milk to corn meal slowly.

    Cook until thick, remove from heat.

    Add sugar, margarine, and salt.

    Let cool.

    Dissolve yeast in water and let stand 10 minutes.

    Add yeast to beaten egg and corn meal.

    Add flour and knead, will be very soft.

    Let rise once.

    Roll out 3/4 inch thick and cut with cookie cutter and let rise.

    Use for hamburger buns or rolls.

    Bake at 350° until golden brown.
