- 15 fresh jalapeno peppers, stems removed, cut in half (we leave the seeds in)
- 1 medium onion, quartered
- One 14 1/2-ounce can diced tomatoes
- 1 garlic clove
- Juice of 1 lime
- Kosher salt to taste
- Saltine crackers or tortilla chips
Directions

1PLACE all the ingredients except the crackers in the bowl of a food processor.

2PULSE until the texture is an even, slightly chunky puree.

3Serve with saltines or chips.

4HEAT the broiler.

5Place the jalapeno peppers on a baking sheet and broil about 4 inches from the heat source until well blistered with patches of charred skin, turning occasionally, about 10 minutes.

6Proceed with the recipe above, adding a handful of fresh cilantro (large stems removed) to the ingredients.
