- 4 lb. ground beef or turkey
- 8 Tbsp. butter
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 4 carrots, finely chopped
- 3 celery stalks, finely chopped
- 3/4 c. chicken broth
- 1 c. tomato puree
- 1 1/2 c. peas (10 oz.)
- 8 medium potatoes
- 1 c. milk
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Saute beef until cooked.

3Pour off fat. In separate pot, melt 2 tablespoons butter, cook onions, carrots and celery until soft.

4Stir in beef, chicken broth, tomato puree, salt and pepper to taste.

5Pour mixture into 17 x 11 x 2-inch baking dish.

6Bake 15 minutes, then stir in peas.

7Cook potatoes in water until soft.

8Drain water.

9Mash with milk, butter, salt and pepper.

10Spread potatoes on top of meat mixture.

11Bake 35 to 45 minutes or until bubbly and golden.
