  • 1 (16 ounce) can lima beans
  • 6 slices bacon, diced
  • 12 cup sliced onion
  • 12 cup diced celery
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 (16 ounce) can red kidney beans, drained
  • 12 teaspoon Tabasco sauce

Directions

    Drain lima beans; reserve 1/2 c liquid.

    In large skillet cook bacon until browned.

    Drain all but 1 tablespoons bacon fat from skillet.

    Add onion, celery and garlic; cook 5 minutes or until tender.

    Stir in ketchup, lima beans, reserved lima bean liquid and kidney beans; mix gently.

    Simmer uncovered 20 minutes; stir occasionally.

    Stir in Tabasco sauce.
