Ingredients
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon oregano
- 3/4 cup yellow cornmeal (polenta)
- 900 g fish fillets
- 1/2 cup oil
- For Batter
- 1/2 cup plain flour (maida)
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder or 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 egg
Directions

1Spread the cornmeal on a waxed paper.

2Keep aside.

3Coat both sides of the fish with the cornmeal.

4Now, take a pan and in it combine all the ingredients, except for the fish, oil and cornmeal.

5Dip the fish{thats coated with the cornmeal on both sides} into the prepared batter.

6Fry the fish, in batches, in the hot oil on medium flame until golden brown on both sides and thoroughly cooked.

7Remove from heat.

8Serve hot.
