Country Style Pot Roast

Ingredients
- 3 lb. rump or chuck roast
- flour
- 3 to 4 tsp. butter or fat
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 cube beef bouillon
- 1/2 c. hot water
- 6 or 8 medium onions
- 3 to 4 potatoes, quartered
- 1 lb. carrots, peeled and quartered
Directions

1Coat sides of meat with flour.

2Place in Dutch oven and brown with butter or fat.

3Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

4Dissolve bouillon cube in hot water and pour over meat.

5Cover and bake in preheated 350° oven for 1 1/2 hours.

6Add vegetables and cook 40 minutes longer.

7Remove meat and vegetables to warm platter.
-
8Add water, if necessary, to juice in pan.
-
9Thicken for gravy.
