- 2 c. uncooked pinto beans
- 7 c. water
- 2 lb. ham hock
- 16 oz. can tomato paste
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 4 oz. can chopped green chilies
Directions

1Soak beans in water overnight; do not pour off water.

2After soaking, add ham hock and cook for 1 hour.

3Take out ham and dice; return to beans.

4Add paste, onion, sugar and chilies.

5Simmer until done, about 3 or 4 hours.
