Ingredients
- 3/4 c. uncooked rice
- 3 Tbsp. cooking fat/oil
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 bay leaf
- 3 whole cloves
- 9 frankfurters, cut up
- 1 1/2 c. onion, sliced (2 onions)
- 1 (No. 2) can tomatoes
- 4 Tbsp. green pepper, chopped (1/2 whole pepper)
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
Directions

1Cook rice until tender.

2Drain.

3Meanwhile, cook onions in fat until tender.

4Add remaining ingredients.

5Simmer for 15 minutes; remove bay leaf and cloves.

6Add rice.

7Arrange 1/3 of mixture in greased 1 1/2-quart casserole.

8Cover with 3 cut up franks.

9Repeat layers until all ingredients are used.

10Bake at 325° for 1 hour.

11Uncover and bake another 15 minutes.

12Serves 6.
