Crab Canapes

Ingredients

  • 18 thin slices sandwich bread
  • 6 Tbsp. softened margarine
  • 1 (6 1/2 oz.) can crabmeat, drained and flaked
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 c. ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp. finely grated onion
  • 1 tsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice

Directions

    Cut 4 rounds from each slice of buttered bread with a small cookie cutter or glass.

    (Plastic medicine cup is ideal.)

    Place rounds on a cookie sheet and bake in a 400° oven for about 6 minutes; cool.

    May store in a plastic bag, sealed.

    Combine crab, cheese, ketchup, onion and lemon juice.

    Mix well and chill.

    Just before serving, spread crab mixture on each toasted round and place on a serving tray.
