Ingredients

  • 4 qt. popped popcorn or 2 bags microwave popcorn
  • 1 c. peanuts
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. light corn syrup
  • 2 Tbsp. molasses
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Directions

    Preheat oven to 250°.

    Mix popcorn and peanuts on a large cookie sheet and place in the oven.

    Mix all remaining ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat; stir until boiling.

    Bring syrup to hard ball stage (260° on candy thermometer).

    This takes 20 to 25 minutes.

    Remove popcorn from oven and quickly pour the syrup over it.

    Place back in oven for 15 minutes.

    Stir, every 5 so that all popcorn is coated.
