- 4 c. flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 1/2 c. orange juice
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 2 Tbsp. grated orange rind
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 2 c. fresh cranberries
Directions

1Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt together.

2Blend in shortening with pastry blender until like coarse meal.

3Combine orange juice, eggs, rind, nuts and cranberries in a large bowl.

4Add sifted ingredients to this bowl and mix by hand.

5Spoon into two 9 x 5 x 3-inch greased loaf pans. Bake at 350° for one hour.
