  • 1/2 c. softened butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. sour milk or 1 c. buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. flour
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. fresh cranberries, chopped
  • 1 c. cornmeal

Directions

    Cream the butter and sugar. Beat eggs. Add to butter-sugar mixture. Add milk and mix well. Sift dry ingredients together and add gradually to liquid mixture. Fold in cranberries.

    Pour batter into a 9-inch square pan. Bake at 400° for 25 minutes or until center springs back when pressed lightly.
