- 2 c. flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1 1/2 c. raw cranberries, coarsely chopped
- juice and grated rind of 1 orange
- 1/2 c. nuts
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 Tbsp. salt
Directions

1Put orange juice and rind in measuring cup and add shortening and enough boiling water to make 3/4 cup.

2Stir into dry ingredients and add cranberries and nuts.

3Pour into greased loaf pans; let stand 20 minutes.

4Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
