Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 3/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 (16 oz.) can jellied cranberry sauce or whole cranberry sauce

Directions

    Cream shortening and sugar; add egg.

    Stir in raisins and nuts. Sift together flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder and cinnamon.

    Add to creamed mixture.

    Stir in cranberry sauce. Spoon into 2 greased and floured 9 x 5-inch loaf pans. Bake at 350° for 40 to 50 minutes.

    Remove from pans and cool on wire rack.
