Crawfish Dip

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Crawfish, Roughly Chopped
  • 1 stick Butter
  • 1 whole Large Chopped Onion
  • 1 whole Chopped Green Bell Pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoons Garlic Powder (or 2 Cloves Minced)
  • 1 Tablespoon Chopped Parsley, Or More As Needed
  • Fresh Ground Black Pepper To Taste
  • 6 drops Hot Sauce, Or More To Taste
  • Cajun Seasoning To Taste
  • 1/2 cups Italian Blend Shredded Cheese, Plus Extra For Sprinkling
  • 8 ounces, weight Philadelphia Cream Cheese
  • Buttered Bread Crumbs, For Topping

Directions

    In a large saucepan, melt butter, then add onion and pepper.

    Saute on a medium-low fire until soft.

    Add everything else (except cream cheese and bread crumbs) and cook, stirring frequently, for about 10 minutes.

    Cut cream cheese in about 8 chunks and add.

    Fold mixture to allow cheese to blend in well.

    Taste and add seasoning as needed.

    Pour into a pie plate and sprinkle with additional shredded cheese.

    Add buttered bread crumbs to the top and baked in a 350 degrees oven until browned.

    Serve with your favorite dip crackers or toast.

    Makes about 3 cups.

    Note: if using crawfish from the store, add about a 1/4 teaspoon crab boil.
