- 2 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. light corn syrup
- 1/2 c. butter
- 2 c. cream, divided
- 1/2 c. broken nuts
Directions

1Bring sugar, corn syrup, butter and 1 cup cream slowly to a boil, stirring constantly.

2Stir in gradually 1 more cup cream. Stir frequently as mixture begins to thicken, constantly as it darkens.

3Cook to 254° (a little dropped into cold water forms a hard ball).

4Pour into buttered 7-inch square pan with 1/2 cup broken nuts scattered over the bottom.

5When cold, cut into squares.

6Makes 5 dozen caramels.
