- 1/2 c. sugar
- 4 Tbsp. flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 c. milk
- 2 egg yolks, slightly beaten
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 (9-inch) baked pastry shell or graham cracker shell
Directions

1Mix dry ingredients with a little of the milk.

2Add rest of milk.

3Cook over boiling water, stirring until thick.

4Cover and cook 15 minutes longer, stirring occasionally.

5Add a little of the hot mixture to egg yolks.

6Pour back and cook a few minutes longer.

7Add the fat and vanilla.

8Pour filling into shell.

9Cool slightly and cover with meringue.

10Bake with meringue on for 12 to 15 minutes or until brown at 350°.
