  • 3 c. milk
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2/3 c. flour
  • 3 eggs, separated (save egg whites)
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/3 c. cocoa (optional, for chocolate pie)

    Boil milk in saucepan.

    Combine sugar, flour, salt and egg yolks; add to milk and stir until thickened.
