- 3/4 c. sugar
- 6 Tbsp. flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 c. milk
- 2 egg yolks, beaten
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Mix dry ingredients thoroughly, then add 1/2 cup milk to make a smooth paste.

2Pour mixture slowly into remaining milk, stirring until mixture thickens.

3Cover and cook over hot water until starch is thoroughly cooked, about 15 minutes.

4Pour a small amount of the thickened sauce into yolks, then return yolk mixture to double boiler to cook, stirring until thickens, 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla.

5Cool mixture in refrigerator before filling cases.
