Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 1 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 4 eggs

Directions

    Melt margarine in 1 cup boiling water.

    Add flour and salt all at once; stir vigorously.

    Cook and stir until mixture forms a ball that doesn't separate.

    Remove from heat; cool slightly.

    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each until smooth.

    Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400° until golden brown and puffy, about 30 minutes. Remove from oven; split.

    Cool for about an hour.

    Then they may be filled with homemade pudding or Thank You pie filling (canned), chocolate, vanilla or lemon.

    Then dust with confectioners sugar. Makes 32 to 36 small puffs.
