  • 1 c. water
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sifted flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 c. milk
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. cornstarch
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • pinch of salt

Directions

    Boil water.

    Add 1/8 teaspoon salt and shortening.

    Add flour, stirring until it is not sticky.

    Let cool.

    Add 4 eggs, 1 at a time, beating thoroughly after each.

    Place on cookie sheet, about 1 rounded tablespoonful per cream puff.

    Bake at 450° for 20 minutes, then at 350° for 20 minutes.
