Ingredients
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
- 1/2 plus 1/8 tsp. baking powder
- pinch of salt
- 2 1/4 tsp. cornstarch
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. cold water
- 2 egg whites
- 2 egg yolks
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
Directions

1Beat egg yolks and water until thick and lemon in color.

2Add flavoring and sugar gradually and beat until sugar is dissolved. Mix and sift together flour, cornstarch, baking powder and salt and add to first mixture.

3Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into flour mixture.

4Bake in greased loaf pan at 325° for 25 to 30 minutes.

5Turn upside-down on rack to cool.

6Loosen from sides of pan when cool.

7Delicious with strawberries and cream.
