Creamed Cabbage Soup

Ingredients
- 1 head diced cabbage, lightly salted, cooked and drained
- 1 lb. ham, diced
- 1 large onion, diced
- 1/2 stick butter
- 2 c. water
- 1 tsp. celery salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1 Tbsp. chicken soup base
- 1/2 stick butter
- 2 qt. milk
- parsley flakes
- 3 Tbsp. cornstarch, stirred into 1/2 c. water
Directions

1Combine ham and onion and saute in 1/2 stick butter until tender, approximately 10 minutes.

2In large soup kettle, combine 2 cups water, celery salt, pepper, soup base, 1/2 stick butter, milk and parsley flakes.

3Heat mixture to simmering point.

4Add cabbage, ham and onion.

5Thicken with cornstarch and water.
