- 2 lb. small white onions
- 1 tsp. salt
- water
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1/8 tsp. paprika
Directions

1Cook onions in boiling water 10 to 15 minutes or until tender. Drain.

2Reserve 1/2 cup liquid.

3Place onions in hot serving dish.

4Melt butter or margarine.

5Add flour and seasonings.

6Stir until smooth.

7Add milk and reserved onion liquid gradually.

8Cook until thickened, stirring constantly.

9Pour sauce over onions. Sprinkle with paprika.

10Serves 6.
