Ingredients

  • 3 fresh or frozen vegetables of your choice (one of 1 c. finely chopped, one of 1/2 c. finely chopped one of 1/4 c. finely chopped)
  • 1 chicken bouillon cube
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 4 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 4 Tbsp. flour
  • 3 c. milk
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 slice (1 oz.) American cheese

Directions

    Cook vegetables and bouillon cube in water until tender.

    Melt butter and gradually add flour.

    Stir in milk to make a thin white sauce.

    Pour white sauce into cooking vegetables.

    Season with salt and pepper.

    Add cheese.

    Simmer for 20 to 30 minutes, being careful not to scorch milk.
