Creamy Basil Fettucine

  • 1/2 box whole wheat fettucine
  • 6 oz white wine
  • 1/2 stick salted butter
  • 1/2 pints heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes (14.5 oz.)
  • 2 tsp pesto
  • 1/4 cup fresh chopped basil
  • 1/4 cup diced sauteed onions
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 2 cup cooked cut chicken breast (optional:and add at the end to pasta)
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 dash italian seasoning
  • 1 dash onion powder
  • 1 dash dill

Directions

    melt butter with pesto and olive oil in large saucepan and add white wine

    add all pepper.sauteed onion.basil.and rest of seasonings.

    simmer for 5 minutes.

    add heavy cream.and simmer for.10 minutes.stirring frequently.

    add grated cheese and simmer an additional 5 minutes.

    gradually add the crushed tomatoes stirring frequently

    cook over medium low and simmer for 10-15

    boil pasta.

    pour sauce over fettucine....(sauce needs 10 min or so to thicken)
