  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. plain flour
  • dash of salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. boiling water

    Cream butter and sugar.

    Add eggs and flour.

    Gradually add buttermilk.

    Add 1 teaspoon baking soda to 1 cup boiling water. Gradually add to cake mixture.

    Bake at 350°.

    Batter will be thin.
