  • 12 strips cooked beef bacon
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 c. chopped green pepper
  • 3 1/2 Tbsp. flour
  • 3 1/2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 3/4 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/8 heaping tsp. pepper
  • 1/8 tsp. dry mustard
  • 28 oz. peeled tomatoes, canned
  • 28 oz. canned string beans

Directions

    Cook bacon until crisp, remove from skillet.

    Add onion and green pepper to 3 tablespoons bacon drippings.

    Cook until tender. Blend in flour, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and mustard.

    Add tomatoes and juice.

    Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.

    Add beans.

    Heat crumbled bacon and stir.
