  • 6 lb. cukes or 6 qt.
  • 1 lb. white onions (1 1/2 c.)
  • 3 large garlic cloves or chips
  • 1/3 c. salt
  • 4 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
  • 1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
  • 2 Tbsp. mustard seed
  • 3 c. vinegar

Directions

    Mix cukes, white onions, garlic cloves or chips and salt. Cover with ice and let stand for 3 hours.

    Drain.

    Combine the sugar, turmeric, celery seed, mustard seed and vinegar; heat to boiling.

    Add cukes and heat to boiling.

    Pack in pints jars. Process in hot water for 5 minutes.
