- 1/4 c. molasses
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 Tbsp. water
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 1/4 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. ginger
- dash of cloves and allspice
Directions

1Mix molasses, shortening, brown sugar and water.

2Stir in remaining ingredients.

3Cover and chill 4 hours or until firm. On floured board, roll out dough 1/2 at a time until paper thin. Cut with 2-inch round cookie cutter.

4Place 1/2-inch apart on ungreased pan.

5Bake at 350° for 5 to 7 minutes or until edges are barely brown.
