- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water (105~ to 115~)
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1 egg and 1 egg white
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 c. flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2In saucepan, combine milk and butter; cut into pieces.

3Heat until just lukewarm.

4In mixing bowl, combine 1 egg and egg white, salt, sugar and 1/2 cup flour. Add remaining flour.

5Beat into a stiff batter for 2 minutes at high speed if using mixer.

6Spread into a greased 9 x 9-inch baking pan.

7Sprinkle topping over the dough; cover.

8Let rise in a warm place until almost doubled, about 1 hour.

9Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes.

10Cool on a rack.

11Cut into squares.
